“The Institutions of a Free Society & The Structure of Social Change”
SESSION 2
“The Leadership Toolbox”
SESSION 3
“Building the Movement”
You will learn how to identify a volunteer’s talents and how to use them to elevate your team. We will also discuss why hierarchical structures and bureaucracies fail to succeed in the world of grassroots organizing.
SESSION 4
“Persuading Others Online & Protecting Your Good Name”
Every story operates under a certain framework – the philosophy that certain elements of a story are emphasized to influence a particular narrative. In this session, you will learn best practices for creating effective, compelling posts on various digital media platforms and methods needed to protect your reputation.
SESSION 5
“Understanding Alinsky Tactics and Building Coalitions”
This session will review the “Father of Community Organizing,” Saul Alinsky, his 13 rules for successful grassroots actions, and discuss whether his tactics can be used by individuals promoting a free and open society. We will also discuss the benefits of seeking and creating coalitions to affect change.
SESSION 6
“S.M.A.R.T. Action”
Learn how to define a goal, create a simple strategic outline, and determine appropriate tactics that aid in identifying, educating, and mobilizing communitied. Working in teams, you will create a basic tactical plan and end the evening by presenting their plan to the entire group.
