WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

SESSION 1

“Our Vision for Change”

Before working to change society, we need a vision for a better society in the first place. In this session, we’ll discuss how America’s founding vision informs AFP Foundation’s efforts and those of our affiliated organizations.

SESSION 2

“Social Entrepreneurs and the Key Institutions”

As a social entrepreneur, you change the world. You’ll leave this session understanding how your passions and skills help you do just that. You’ll articulate your North Star to other participants and guide each other through the four key institutions of government, business, education, and community to demonstrate successful entrepreneurship in each.

SESSION 3

“The Power of Storytelling”

Nothing is more powerful than a well-told story. Effective storytelling can win hearts and minds and inspire action. Here you’ll learn how to craft your personal narrative to connect with others and bring them into your movement.

SESSION 4

“Building Relationships, Building Communities”

You can’t create a better society by yourself. Creating real change requires working within a community. This session tackles how to create the lasting relationships upon which strong communities are built.

SESSION 5

“Working with Anyone to Do Good”

Successful coalitions are comprised of change agents who unite with anyone to do right. In this course, you’ll learn to identify potential coalition partners, however unlikely. You’ll also walk through the steps toward building mutually beneficial relationships that advance your cause and increase your effectiveness.

SESSION 6

“Impacting Your Elected Officials”

Influencing elected officials is essential to effecting change through government. This course teaches you how to engage in legislative activism by building productive, long-term relationships with your lawmakers.
